Need your help
I have a 96 LT-4, 6 speed. When I turn the key, nothing happens: No clicking sound-nothing. I have power for head lights, radio etc. I drive the car a few times a month. But when I do, I run it on the highway for an hour or so. The battery was replaced about a year ago. Any suggestions?

Thats what happened to my `87 the day I got it. Had a different key made. Works fine ever since.

There are thin gauge wires that go to the ignition cylinder. Apparently a kink in one of them and it finally snapped. My local Corvette specialist diagnosed it and replaced it. You need to plug it into a VATS interrogator (a dealer or Corvette specialist will have one) and it will be able to tell you exactly what is going on.
The chip is nothing more than a resistor and if it doesn't read the correct value it will not send a signal to the starter or the fuel injectors (fuel injectors so the car can't be push started).
