I have a 92 6-speed which, I believe, needs a new back-up switch. I have already checked the fuse and also checked to see I am not getting 12 volts to each back-up light sockets. Have anyboby had experience replacing this switch and what would it take to replace on the 6-speed? I also understand the switch is mounted to the tranny? Yes?
Thanks
the switch is on the passanger side of the tranny I believe, I need to do mine too, so i'll be watching this thread for some pointers as well :jester
I had the same problem on my '86 4+3. It turned out the switch was fine, it just wasn't screwed in all the way. It somehow loosened up a bit, and it only takes a foot hair to make the difference between working and not working.
I replaced mine,I had to remove the slave cyl. to get at it.It is a very tight spot. You need a large open end wrench,i think maybe3/4 or 7/8?
I can't remember for sure(sorry). I also had the exhaust down at the time
(u-joints).The switch is about $50 from jeff kopp. My lights had not worked
for the past 2 years and finally thought this would be a good time to fix it.
