So I shouldn't spray any cleaning agents in the throttle body of an LT1? (1994)
- WPK
No, cleaning out the TB is a good idea. I am talking about miracle gas treatments that you pour in like STP fuel injector cleaner. If you have to add a fuel injector cleaner, use Chevron Techron. Thats the only brand I trust.
Just for the record, I have not had injectors fail or be damaged from using fuel injector cleaner. I am merely basing it on the facts about multecs and the research Jon at FIC injectors has done. In no way am I saying that your injectors WILL fail if you use fuel injector cleaner. Just a higher risk if you have multecs. Have them professionally cleaned by FIC or some other reputable source if you so choose.
I've always been a Chevron only (or occasionally Texaco, same stuff in California) guy. And, I have thrown in an occasional bottle of Techron... but I'll refrain from a full blast of solvent..
