Title is a bit misleading. Some are better than others. Purolator/Mopar looks to be the best built.

This really doesn't prove anything. I have used Fram on 5 different Jeeps since 1985 and have never had any problem.

Interesting; looks like Advanced Auto's Pure One and Auto Zone's Bosch are the best values.

These are the only oil filters I'd buy

1. Royal Purple

2. Mobil 1

3. Purolator Pure One

4. AC Delco

If the auto parts is out of those 5 choices I'll go somewhere else.

The pep boys store brand 'proline' is usually re-boxed purolater. Fram spends all their money on marketing. They are the walmart of oil filters- The majority of people have proven time and again that price is more important than other attributes. Every place has Fram because they are cheapest for the stores and have room for mark-up, well advertised with the name recognition.

that link with the study has been around for awhile. I think the cheap fram filters will just barely get the job done on the average car so it isn't a big deal, but what burns me is that they charge a fairly high price they charge- they must be proud of the orange paint job.

AC filters usually rate high in tests. Walmart brand filters = Delco made

I've seen dissections like this before and now use Baldwin filters most of the time.

For what it`s worth, I have always had very good luck with AC Delco or Mobil 1.

well if he would not have posted this you would still be walking on egg shells waiting for your filter to fail.
