Can somebody post a photo of how the pipes from the PCV & air connections run between the valve covers & injectors to the intake & throttle body on an '86 engine?
I don't have a picture, but you should have metal tubes on both sides. They attach to the top valve cover bolts. They also have tabs to attach plastic covers that hide the injector wiring harness.
A short 3/8 rubber hose goes from the metal tube to the PCV. On the other end, a 3/8 hose connects the metal tube to a fitting on the intake manifold. On the breather side, they have a special grommet and rubber 90 on the valve cover. Then there's a short metal tube to another rubber 90 that connects to a longer metal tube.
If you don't have the metal tubes, you can easily route rubber hose.
I've got the metal tubes & rubber elbows & everything except maybe the plastic tabs...but for the life of me can't bet them to go on like you described.
Oh, what goes on the 2 studs on the intake manifold on both sides just above the valve covers?

Yep, I'm figuring that out slowly....got the air tube on the driver side bolted down with hose from hole in valve cover into it & hose from it into pipe coming out if intake.....there's another hose coming out of that pipe going, I'm guessing to the air pump (which I'm eliminating).
On the passenger side, I see how it fits but must have bent it just a little when I took everything apart.
Next, I've gotta figure out all the little clips that hold the plug wires below the valve covers....don't have all of them so I guess its a trip to my Chevy dealer.
Thanks
Oh, I'm installing this L-98 TPI in my '77 C3 & have/am doing away with all emissions pieces/parts.
I just went throught the same issue on my '85. On the passenger side I went to my Chevy dealer and bought the shaped hose that runs from the top TB fitting to the rear vent on the valve cover. It's for an '88 up Vette. Its called a crankcase vent hose. I used the original 90 degree fitting on the valve cover, then used a brass fitting to adapt the 90 from the valve cover to the new hose. It was a couple bucks. The cool part? The hose was like $18 bucks from the dealer. Hell yeah!
This setup works good, and looks really slick because the '88 up hose fits really nice.
nutz4c4: thanks...that's the way I thought they should go....tell me, please, the long hose off the pipe on the driver side - could it go to the headlight vacuum system on my '77 car?
nutz4c4, what is your TPI setup? Is the plenum stock, with aftermarket runners and base?
Stock Plenum cleaned up inside to remove restrictions and siamesed.Ported and gasket matched stock base.

The hose off the front goes to the emissons canister. If your headlight system uses constant vaccum you could probably use the hose that way. Worth a try. Been a while since I messed with a C3...
