I own an 84 vette, I put in a Cd player that I got out of an 87,
When I put a CD in the unit, it comes right back out, The radio works fine, But can't seem to get it to play a CD..
I hate to say it but I would have ditched the Blose. Why use 22 year old technology? Just bit the bullet, remove it and replace with something brand new and be amazed at the difference!

Hmmm,
My radio works fine too, Just have same issue with CDs..
It seems like the 87s did have CD players...
For those of you that really insist on thinking 20+ year old technology is going to work flawlessly, the older CD units need an upgrade to play modern CD's. There are vendors that will convert your Blose so that modern CD's will work on them, but you can probably find a nice new head unit for the same $.
Unless you have some 20 year old CD's laying around?

That is why it ejects your CD.
You mean the older CDs are different from the new CDs?
See ya learn something new everyday...
I could understand the MP3 format would be different, but never would have thought that the store bought CDs would be different...
I am going to just replace the stereo system after the holidays, Moneys little tight right now..
Thanks,
Ant...

Dirt - My 96 started doing that not too long ago. Went to Walmart and got a cleaning disk. It has two little brushes on it and a track that encourages the unit to spin and position the head on the brushes.
It removed a nice little dust gob for me. Working better than ever now.
The second, more sinister option, is that the laser has failed.
