E Z Link diagnostic Scanner

MAD is advertising on pg.4-2 of their NEW catalog a scanner for $ 199.99. Has anyone bought one of these and if so, is it worth the $ ? Is there a better one for a OBD-1 (1992 LT-1) around the same price range that will do the job?

There are several free SW packages to read OBD 1. You need one of those, an old laptop, and a connector cable. There should be a pretty good FAQ here. Look for references to 'scan tools' :

Also look at the PROM forum on this board for info about 'WinALDL' or 'Moates' SW.
