Last winter I replaced the 3 oil seals in the front of my LT1. This summer I discovered that I still had a small oil leak. I took the engine out again this week and found the the seal for the OptiSpark is the culprit. I now suspect that the spindle is worn, allowing a small amount of oil to leak around it. Does anyone know if I can buy a complete repair kit for this seal, including a new spindle? Short of that does anyone know where I can get a replacement spindle?

Did you use AC delco seals or aftermarket seals? Is the spindle worn where seal seals on shaft?Clean shaft on spindle with a wire wheel.Note location or installed depth of seal.Next install cleaned-up spindle.Install new seal in timing cover at a different depth so the seal is riding on a different part of shaft/spindle.Be sure to put some vasoline on inside lip of seal. Are you sure the seal was not damaged during install the first time?It happens.I know they sell sleeves for crankshafts, etc. but dought they sell them for the spindle your referring to(called speedi-sleeve).You should be able to find that part from dealer if you want to go that route.Does spindle have too much "play",allowing it to spin in an oval shape wearing seal out?Check all of this & post findings
