Does your check "Check ASR System" light up when you engage the Diacom+ software?
Mine does and I was wondering if this was normal? It also turns off the ASR
which is probably causing the display.
My car also behaves differently. ( a little stumble here and there)
I've tried Normal and ADL mode, but there both the same.

Also my EGR is never engaged, even during WOT. Is this normal

Does the Diacom cable indicate "GM 1982 & up "
Sorry for all the questions, but I purchased this software from
one of the F-body guys and I just want to make sure I'm using the
correct product.

THanks
Hank

It is normal for the ASR light to come on. As far as the EGR, I am unsure. I bet others will chime in with more answers.

Hey Hank, This is totally unrelated, but I am looking for some Diacom runs of LT1 cars so that I can go over ALDL data with some guys in my University's car club. Right now, I only have scan data from '85-'91. If you could send one or two my way I would appreciate it.

Note: Some people are weary having their VIN sent with a file, so you could change the last 4 digits of the VIN to "0's" before you scan next time if it bothers you. Thanks! -Matt-

Normal mode is the mode you will generally want to use. ALDL mode supposedly does some 'helpful' things like set your RPM at 1000 amongst others. You never want to drive the vehicle with Diacom connected in ALDL mode for more than a few seconds since spark is changed.

The correct cable for you to use with a 93 is the cable listed as '82 & Up'. The only other cable that comes with the base package is one for '86-89 TPI cars'.

EGR should not function under WOT.

When you go to link, isn't there an option for scanning either the main ECM or the ???(DERM?). It has been a while since I messed with newer ones.

With your car running and Diacom in Normal mode, there shouldn't be any noticable change in smoothness. -Matt-

Matt and Tony
Thanks for the info. Matt I'll send you a copy of a few run's.
Hmmm EGR is supposed to reduce combustion temp by as much as 500 degrees. I need to verify the EGR is proberly functioning. I wonder if this
is contributing to the my high RPM pings.
