You should really try the siamese trick on the base. It has been dyno proven to work. You are already there, you may as well remove the lower and go for it. If you did the lower as well, then you may see somewhere between 15-20 HP.

I have manifold down, but i'm affraid to siamesse the ports because in some previous posts there were some diff. in opiniions (about cyl. 5&7).
But i have already ported the intake manifold ports (upper part)
I'm not sure should i port the lower part also, because it's square shape
and injectors sit there.
Did anybody port this also - any pics?

I think someone on here said that knife edges were not good. You might want to make them a little more rounded to allow smooth air flow. Here's a pic of my plenum porting. I did feel a noticable difference in trottle response and the car reaches higher rpms quicker now. Be careful about how much material you remove from the seal surfaces, if you take too much off you can suck the gaskets right out from between the runners and the plenum, causing vaccum leaks. Peace.

You should port the base. Basically, use the intake gasket for a stencil and match the ports perfectly. Make sure the cylinder head ports are matched as well...you do not want the intake manifold larger than the heads intake ports.
I think siamesing the base is also a good idea. I wouldn't worry about 5-7 scavengine...it's only a problem on 'wet' manifolds ( IE: carb or TBI designs ). Heck, even for carbs, single plenums put 5-7 almost together anyway...no problems there.

what happened to the idle circuit tube? What did you use to port them? Did you enlarge the entire runner? I couldnt get mine out because the fuel rail wont come out.

If you are thinking about the picture in my previous post, these are not the same runners.
I made this photo when i ported one runner and the other is stock.
I didn't port the whole lenght of runners because they are too thin.
The fuel rail should come off easy.
You must take off all bolts (see pictures) and fuel income and return tubes
(pic. 2).
When everything is disconnected only rubber seals on injector (pic. 3) can
hold fuel rail but it should go out easy.
