I have a 93 with 150,000 miles on it. I use it for autocross and track day as well as daily driver. I love the car and have to prepare myself for its eventual demise. I also have a pre 78 4 bolt main 350 setting in the garage. This is a low tech motor. Can I swap all the modernish crap from the 93 onto this block and use it in the 93?

No

Your 93 is an LT1 which is reverse cooled and an opti instead of a regular distributor.

Scour around on craigs list. You can usually find LT1 cores / direct drop ins at a reasonable price.

Camaros / Trans Ams / Impala SS / Corvettes all ran these motors from 92 (for corvettes) through 96.

All of the blocks with the exception of the vette blocks are 2 bolt mains. Don't let that keep you from buying one of these motors as it seems that a 2 bolt block drilled for 4 bolt splayed main caps is stronger then the factory 4 bolt block anyway.

Watch the B body LT1s ........B body= caprice, impala, roadmaster etc

some of the LT1s aren't they are 4.3 liter v8s but they look like LT1s and are often mistaken/sold/bought as LT1s.
