Hey.... Hope someone can help.....My drivers side window stops fine back by the door handle but upfront near the mirror the window goes up about 1 1/4in higher than the seal. Does anyone know how many stops are used to stop the window when all the way up?
I found a broken piece of plastic in the bottom of the door and it came from the forward mount hole of the window and follows a steel rod. Replaced it but still happens. The two anti-rattle bracket are in new shape and are adjusted just right.
The bad part is you have to pay attention every time you operate it because the back top corner part of the window kicks back, out of wack, and smacks the painted pillar.
If you take your inner door cover off, I'm pretty sure that you will find 2 window stops - one near the front and one closer to the back. These are adjustable and should correct the problem of the window going too high at the front. I found one of the window stops laying on the inside bottom of one of my doors
Your window regulator has a aluminum track that gets bolted to the window. This track is spot welded at two different locations. The window can still go up and down with broken spot welds. It just won't work correctly. If you find broken weld(s) take the regulator out making sure to use a magic marker and scribe as necessary to aid in putting everything back together. Any competent welder can use a TIG welding setup and do the welds in less than 5 minutes.
