Default Replacing 911 performance brake pads rear ?

Hi,

a while ago I upgraded my rear brakes with so called "911 performance brake pads" and slotted powerstop rotors. They work very good - especially combined with my Movit front brake.

Now it's time to replace the rear pads and I couldn't find 911 pads anymore.
Looking for a QUITE pad (no noise) that has a good bite.

A looked through the threads and often found Hawk HPS. Are they quite or more on the noise side of braking ? Are the 911 pads still available?

Bernd

I think the old TRW/Autospecialty 911 Extreme Performance pads are now called Z36 Extreme Performance Truck and Tow or Z26 Extreme Performance.

I only see a Corvette listing for the Z26 pad.

The 911 pads were typically sold along with powerstop drilled rotors. I had a set at one time.

You maybe able to still get some old ones if you do some digging.

I now use Hawk HP+ linings front and rear. They dust quite a bit, and squeal a little, but they are effective.

Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™
The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser, and has won multiple SCCA Solo 2 and Prosolo National Championships. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. Bobcat 1521™ compound has also been found to extend the life of your rotors 2-3 times. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

I didn't order yet. As "tow and truck" is not what I want to do with my Vette :-), although the 911 rear pads worked great, I think I'll order some Hawk HPS.

Still hope they are quit pads and do not make noise.

I'd say Hawk HPS pads combined with ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid. That's the setup I had on my former E30 BMW DD and they worked great! I had absolute brick wall brakes.

I have hawk hps and they destroyed my baer rotors. Looked like metal to metal contact and no track use. bedded properly and heat cycled etc just a few hard stops and cya later rotors. I'd suggest a street pad if you are not tracking your car.

"0" noise I have them in stock calipers with stock rotors.
I'll be upgrading to slotted rotors this spring and I'll post how they work together.

I ordered my pads from the Tire Rack, I think I paid about $86 for the front and $40 for the rears
