Default Are you kidding me?

So there's a strange clunk noise when I turn key on. Quick investigation reveals that the fan blades of the radiator side fan have come off the fan motor. Yeah.........after 20 years and 130,000 miles the 5/16-18 left handed nut just decided "I'm gone".
It's like I tell folks "if you like workin on cars.........you gotta get one one these".
Miracles of miracles, I actually had 5/16-18 left handed nut in my collection! Lotsa loc-tite too.

That's why I just cringe when I see a young adult (kid) asking about an older C4 they are wanting to buy.

I personally don't think they are the car for a young man on a tight budget.

Glad you got it fixed.

hey, as a young adult I resent that, I've learned a lot from my car from suspension, brakes, engine builds, to rewiring the whole dash

After this vette and after turning a 1996 Caprice into a driving hot tub I feel like I can do anything. (the auto engineering classes help too lol)

So the 5/16 -18 left handed nut that was supposed to be on the fan was on your workbench the whole time. No wonder the fan blades fell off.
