Replacement brake booster
Has anyone found a source for or a used on another platform part number to avoid the corvette tax on this part..? I have a 1985 with a leaking power brake booster and i really don't want to dump $400 on one of these.. At the rate this thing is going thru replacement parts. I project a brand new (replaced) C4 by the end of 2010..

I have a dumb question.. The 85 I have has a metal brake booster with "Girling" on a decal on it.. the replacement boosters I am finding are plastic and seem to be larger diameter.. (although I cant be sure on that part as I dont have one in my hands.) Is there some hidden gotcha here? Did they have some option package that had a different booster?
