Fuel Sending Unit
I have a 1986 coupe and need a fuel sending unit, the one in the tank is rusted out and had holes in it, i was looking at this web page

but says 1989. will this fit in my 86's tank?

When you pull up '84 to '96 it shows that sending unit. I would say no, because of they years it's listed to fit. I looked at Rock Auto and they don't even list a sending unit for an '86. I would continue to check around for a '86 unit. Then come back and compare it to the sending unit on your link. If they look the same, they might be. Wish I had a better answer for you. Surely someone still makes an '86 sending unit....

86/87 cars have a different size return line from the 88 and up cars.
The 88 and up cars have a larger return line,so your stock return line hose wont fit the line on an 88 and up unit.
I have a 1986 fuel sender unit you can have for 40 bucks.It has some minor surface rust from sitting in the garage,but is not rusted out.You could clean it up and use it.If you are interested,send me a PM to my PM box.
