This is good advise, have the lug nut TIG welded, this keeps the sparks at bay. Also...when you weld, this will cause local-ized heating of the lug nut, that all by it-self should break it loose.
short piece of 'black steel' pipe nominal 1'' dia, 4-6'' long (buy a 'nipple' at homie depot if needed)...common 'buzz box' arc welder... bud holds pipe against lug nut using weld ground clamp as a handle, welder reaches down INSIDE pipe with 6011 rod (fresh full length) to weld pipe to lug nut...pipe wrench removes all, best while still hot. (pipe shields fancy wheel from damage...welding heat loosens nut)
This might be one of the dumbest things i've ever seen on here. You seriously got beat so bad by a lug bolt that you had to cut your wheel apart? Thats great.
I tried to jam a smaller size socket over it but all it did was strip it. i don't have a propane torch i can heat it up with so i can soften the nut and crack it. is there anything i can do to crack it?
A torch will normally discolor the rim.The best way is to use a pound-on twist socket. If that don't work drill it out-which will take alot of "elbow grease" & sweat.Replace stud & lugnut & use anti-seize on studs & torque to spec & retorque a few days to a week later.Don't sawzall you rim
Still trying to get this last lugnut off. It must be the threads as the lugnuts exterior isnt rounded at all. Anyone know of any lugnut extractor tools that would work? Im trying not to damage the rims-c5 zo6 wheels.
PUT ALL THE LUGS BACK ON AND TAKE IT TO THESAME SHOP THAT YOU'VE BEEN BUYING TIRES FROM FOR YEARS. EXPLAIN YOUR PROBLEM,EVERY GOOD TIRE SHOP HAS THE LUGNUT EXTRACTORS. THEY'LL HAVE IT OFF WHILE YOUR POURING THAT FREE CUP OF COFFEE.GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY THE FREE COFFEE

Heres the dilemma-Im in the midst of doing my brakes-all new rotors, pads,ss lines and C5 upgrade on the front and this is the last one I have to do. If I end up not being able to get this wheel off would it cause any problems to bleed the other 3 sides' brakes and try n get the car to a shop to have the lug taken off?
I WOULD THINK IF EVERYTHING WAS REASSYMBLED,PROPERLY BLED,AND BRAKES TESTED FOR PROPER OPERATION,AND THE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE,WHY NOT.BOUGHT THE WIFE A CAR AWHILE BACK,IT HAD LOCKING LUGNUTS.DIDN'T HAVE THE LUG KEY.TOOK IT DOWN TO A DISCOUNT TIRE,TOLD THEM MY PROBLEM. HELL THEY HAD THEM OFF WHILE I WAS ASKING HOW M UCH. THEY DID IT FOR FREE. CHEAPER THEN BUYING A TOOL THAT I;LL PROBABLY NEVER USE AGAIN. I HAVE ENOUGH ONE TIME TOOLS. DISCLAIMER; NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR MY THOUGHTS OR IDEAS;I'M OLD-RETIRED AND TO MUCH TIME ON MY HANDS. SHE SAYS. GOOD LUCK

As far as bleeding-would I just skip the right rear since I wasnt able to get the wheel off and didnt crack open the brake lines on it? Not sure if it makes a different but my situation isnt the missing lock its a lugnut with damaged threads.
Would that be the Craftsman Lugout? I came across that on ebay and was considering it. Any idea if it would work for my situation?
they are actually just called "rounded bolt removers" or somethign to that effect. wheni get home from work tonight i'll post a pic. i think i paid around $30 for a set of 12. they work perfectly and i have not had one that fit properly fail me.
HI, IF I COULD REACH THE RIGHT REAR BLEEDER, I WOULD BLEED THAT ALSO, ALL I NOW IS THAT A REPUTABLE TIRE SHOP DEALS WITH THIS KIND OF B.S. EVERYDAY. IF THERES A SIMPLE WAY I'M BETTING THEY WOULD HAVE IT. AGAIN JUST MY 2 CENTS.SIMPLE IS AS SIMPLE DOES.

Might have to go with this route and drive the car somewhere as a last resort :/
