Default ESC module blue sensor wire routing

I've been battling a code 43 knock sensor issue since I got my 85. Yesterday, I got under the car, disconnected the connector to the knock sensor, and the wire just pulled out of the wire loom. The wire got cut about 18" before the knock sensor.

Anyhow, I searched and searched to see where the wire came from to fix it, but can't find where it came from. I know the wire originates from the ESC module plug on the passenger side, but then it disappears into the big harness going into the car.

To fix it, I ran a new wire from the blue ESC module wire coming out from the harness to the knock sensor. I put it in new loom to (hopefully) shield it from any false signals.

My question is: is this the correct fix for this problem? The car runs normally, but is it going to affect anything by not routing it like the factory?
