Has anyone tried these? If so did they work?

I just use a copper gasket between the collector flange and exhaust flange. It's reusable and been off many times.

Do they allow you any movement like a ball and socket attachment? Or do they connect straight from the header collector? I've installed Hooker headers on my 91 and the drivers side collector is aiming close to the shift lever on the auto transmission. I'm going to have to find a way to clear it. Also I don't want to be to close and have a heat soak issue.

cshuman, if your Hooker headers are the ones with the 3 bolt collector flange, like my buddies, you may have leakage as the collector needs to be a "ball" style to accept these. The brand header I have comes with the "ball socket" header and reducer and they work fine. I also had the collector angle heading toward the linkage, which is why I went with the "ball socket" headers, even though some people say the "brand" does not give as much power as ones like the Hookers.

If you have a leak at the collector/reducer joint I am running something a bit different. I use an exhaust donut gasket from a '67 big block Vette it's shape lets it sit right inside the collector and reducer. I simply put it in there and tighten up the bolts with no other gaskets and it is leak free and cheaper than the aftermarket copper/aluminum gaskets.

You do have some room to play with. When you bolt it to the header you will be able to move up & down or left to right and still have a perfect seal. I needed to use this set up to give me more room near the linkage. It worked for me and maybe it will work for you.

Are you running Hookers? Also I assume you have an automatic as well. If so sounds like you are having the same issues as I am. Did the little bit of movement with the Header Buddies give you the clearance you needed? I appreciate all the help.
