Had all the fastners off the fan shroud so i thought, then saw 3 small ones way down by the nose on both sides, well I tried but my hands are to big to get down in there plus the fingers dont work too good so put all the others back in. Whats the trick?
Are you referring to the air intake shroud in front? If so, I can't remember how I removed mine, I do remember it was a pain but I can tell you this.....they aren't in there now.
On the passenger side, remove the coolant overflow and you can reach 2 of the 3 by accessing from the side with a 1/4 drive ratchet, an extension, and a universal. On the driver's side, remove the AIR pump (for the LT1 cars) and you can access 2 of the 3 as well. For the third bolt on each side, you need an open end wrench and a lot of patience.
When you reassemble there are several options.
- Don't install any of them
- Only install 2 of the 3 on each side
- Flip the nut plates around and install the bolts so that you access them from the other side by looking up at the radiator
- Put them in as designed

This is the method I used, makes it much easier the next time you pull the shroud.
To remove the Top Passenger side shroud bolt, I had to buy a 7mm open end/box wrench from Sears.
Once that bolt was loosened, I was able to unscrew it with my fingers. I also, reversed the nut plates and installed the bolts the opposite direction underneath the bumper cover as 96GS#007 mentioned.
