Default Need Advice on FX3 Shocks

I got a new set and so the old set is going out. I didn't want to go the rebuild road. I THINK they are working ok but am not sure.

So, any ideas on what the core price is if that is what it turns out o be?

Also any ideas on what the used but in ok shape price is should it turn out to be that?

TIA.

If it is worth it, I might take tit to ebay and let it see what it does.

Are you seeing any codes? Is the SRC light on? Do you feel any difference in ride stiffness as you turn the control **** thru the three settings. Sometimes it's hard to tell for sure if the stiffness changes especially when you are driving on city streets at slow speeds.

The FX3 system also uses vehicle speed to fine-tune the shock stiffness at any of the three **** settings. For example, shock stiffness at the "Tour" setting at 70 MPH is actually stiffer than the "Performance" setting at 20 MPH.

Are you saying you got a new set of FX3 shocks? The old ones can be rebuilt by Bilstein and all you have to do is to send your old shocks to them. No core charge necessary for rebuilding as the use your own shocks.

It's hard to place a value on used FX3 shocks if you cannot state for sure that they are "working". To me, working would mean that the shaft turns freely when the actuator motor runs, the gear at the top of the shock rod is not broken and that the shaft seal is not allowing lots of oil to leak out and that there are no SRC error codes in the BCM that point to a specific shock problem.

No codes whatsoever. I can compress it and it seems normal but I can't tell the difference in stiffness.

Nice to know.

Yes, I do have a new set. I wanted to get a new set because of the lifetime warranty.

I have none of the issues you mentioned. Like I said, the only reason I did it is that I thought of getting them rebuilt with a 100 day warranty vs new and VBP gave me a hell of a price at 20% off
