Default Exhaust help needed ASAP!!!

1st,..Happy and Healthy New Year to everyone!!

Ok, now, some serious help needed on a current project. I just started doing some exhaust mods on a 1990 L98 with stock exhaust.

I purchased all my parts already and I'm attempting top replace my stock exhaust w/ a magnaflow cat back system with a Summit converter and headman Long tube headers. I need to know if I can leave the existing air pulley and just cap it off because of the serpentine belt and I don't want to purchase a pulley replacement kit ( WAY OVER PRICED) if I can avoid it.

I'm obviously removing the entire e.g.r system and if I can, I'd like to put a block off plate on the egr from the manifold.

Also, anyone have any recommendations on the O2 sensor that previously went to the stock manifolds and now doesn't have a fitting on the headers...I think I might have to have a muffler shop fabricate an opening in the flange to ad my O2 sensor if needed. I don't know if it willl affect my computer as I'm also adding a chip.

ALL help is SOOOO greatly appreciated!!!!!!!
Thanks!!!!
Jeffrey

drill a hole in the headers and weld in an O2 sensor bung. if they are ceramic coated it may be tough to "ruin" the coating. you could move the sensors aft of the headers but they are supposed to be within a certain distance of the heads. others may have a better idea if this is possible.

Rather than ruin the coating, you might have the o2 bung welded into one of the connectors. I do not know if your car is equipped with a heated 02 sensor or not, you may or may not have to convert to a heated o2 sensor, as your headers might not get the sensor hot enough that far away from the exhaust port to kick your computer into closed loop. I have heard it both ways, so you might ask around or just try it with the stock sensor. Your air pump will be fine disconnected, you can even take the vanes out of it for less drag. (disclaimer) I have stock manifolds, so I am just repeating the info I have heard here. I do have the vainless pump.

Keep us informed about the details of your installation....I am thinking of purchasing a pair of these headers in the future and would like to know how they fit, etc......good luck!
