89 speedo is on and off
Driving to work today on the freeway I look down and my speedo says 0 mph? Then it go's back up to normal speed 65 or 70. Why is it doing this? Works most of the time. Maybe its just cold out? 22 degrees this morning. what should I check for and where?

if you had the heat on high out of the vents it possibly caused a momentary glitch by heating the dash. it has 20 year old wiring. the wire coatings get very frail. you should only be concerned if it gets more frequent. then look for patterns to better diagnose it.

Do you have a scanner? If so drive with it for a bit and see what the output is. That tells you what the ECM is actually seeing. That way you can see if the output of the VSS is choppy or whether it is your gauge.
