I have a '93 vert and the remote door locks no longer work . FOBS are no good . Can I have an after market Remote Door Lock System installed w/o any problem ??
I have the factory system so I don't know first hand , but I have read a lot of comments from others stating they have had lots of problems with aftermarket systems installed on top of the factory system. Hopefully others will have more firsthand knowledge.
Dealers and parts stores want upward of $150. for remotes...BS, you can buy new remotes from www.ThePartsYouNeed.com
I paid $29. each for my 2003 Ford Focus...dealer wanted $180. each.
I had an after market alarm installed at BestBuy on my 87 vette..an AVITAR. Forgot what I paid (wasn't that bad), it came with Keyless entry, hatch back remote. It also offered remote for the windows and starter as an option..which I didn't do. The only problem I encountered was sensitivity, sometimes a garbage truck passing by would set off the alarm(has an impact alarm), they simply de-sensitised it. I've had the alarm for about 8 years with NO other problems...love it. And BestBuy did a very professional job on the install.

I highly doubt you are going to find a C4 Corvette PKE FOB for $29.
