Auto shifter **** ????
Can anyone tell me how to get the **** off of the shifter??? I need to take the console out but unsure how to get that thing off??? Oh by the way it's a 92 Auto.

Take a flathead screwdriver and gently pry up on the button. (It's only held on by two thin pieces of metal and friction.) If you have snap ring pliers you'll need them. If not a pair of needle nose pliers and a flathead screwdriver will work to remove the snap ring inside the ****. After you get the snap ring off, just pull up on the ****. It should come right off.
I found that putting the car in neutral makes the whole process easier. Hope that helps...
