High Performance Catalytic Converters?

High Performance Catalytic Converters?
I have a 84 Vette with automatic transmission and now that the Renegade intake is here was thinking of doing a spring tuneup. I have been a little disapointed with the top end, and was going to do the manifold, get my throttle bodies bored to 2 inches, get the performance chip and a high performance catalytic converter. Do you guys thinks this is a good combination and what would be a good converter to get? I will probably be doing the heads and the cam and whatever else when I get the money. What should I be talking to a mechanic about the manifold? What do you think a good price for this would be, is there anything to worry about? Thanks, also I wanted to add I have a B&B cat back exhaust.
