Default lt1 intake

can anyone tell me what all is involved if I wanted to put an lt1 tb and intake and on my '86. just curious because i read a thread the other day about how efficient the lt1 intake is. my other option is to go with a super ram and large runners or something like that. just wondering how feasible both options are. By the way I have the cast iron heads but might change anyway.

The LT1 intake has to be modified. It has no coolant passages, so they need to be created, and it has to be modded for a distributor, which does away with the EGR, I think. So it's not really an emissions legal option.

There is a company around who will modify an LT1 intake to make it work, but I don't remember the website. You'd probably be best to go with a proven mini-ram or super ram setup.

youd be better off going MR or SR, the setup is totally different for LT1

Not a real typical do-it-yourself type of thing....can be DIY, but not by most. :seeya

you would probably be out about $400-600 bucks, as the guy who did the site ,will charge $200 to convert the manifold, and then you can buy the fuel lines from him, for $60. A few modifications will have to be performed, such as the TPSensor will need to be clearanced, and the throttle cable will have to be modified. Other than that, it's very easy, and doable.
