Default smog pump help

heres the situation I have added headers to my 92 lt1. I deleted the emmision tubes running to the back of the intake and to the original manifolds which left me with no where to run the hoses from the smog pump. Can I take the smog pump off without buying a bracket and getting a shorter belt or should I leave it on without the hoses connected to any thing.

you can leave it on with the hoses disconnected but it will be LOUD. As in LOUD to the point that you'll want to either buy the delete pulley kit, or take apart the pump and disembowel it.

That's what I did. Removed the internals since the way the L98 belt is routed a shorter belt won't work and those pulleys are overpriced. Are these later pumps "guttable"? I lived in NC. There is no smog inspections there. Just state inspections that check your horn, wiper, turn signals.

What about visual inspection in NC for smog? I had my EGR tuned out but still have the piping hooked up. I want to put a EGR block off plate on but if they look for smog related items I'm not going to.

When I lived in Jacksonville they didn't check any of that stuff since they didn't test emissions. I don't know if that's still the case or if certain counties do things differently.

No pulleys or belts to remove, the air pump on 92 and later is electric, just unplug the wires. You will find it just below the left headlight.
