Another question, a comment and a little brag
I laid my 88 up before Thanksgiving and pulled everything from the block to the front bumper. Also new roller rockers, valve cover gaskets, plugs, cap, roter, water pump, all the hoses, even the smog. Found out radiator was original, stamped May 28, 1988. Car was assembled June 20 thru June 27
Here's question. Putting EGR tube back on it occurred to me there was absolutley no carbon or anythinh else in the tube, looked new inside!
Does this mean EGR may not be working?

: I finished putting it all back together and eye balled the timing a little while ago. I got rushed and didn't take my time. Inserted key in ign, turmed it on, waited a few seconds, figuring I'd be trouble shooting for a week, hit the key and it started in less than a full revolution! It ran a little rough and I could hear some ticking. Walked around and could see spark jumping from # 6 & 8 wires which I had failed to hook up. Did that and car runs great
It has over 150,000 miles? Who says hi mileage is a problem

Not really because there is still nothing to keep the egr tube from filling up with exhaust smoke all the way up to the point of the egr valve, weather it's open or closed if you get what I'm saying. The EGR tube has a direct open connection to the exhaust manifold.
