Hi, I currently have the opportunity to buy 4 Falken Visa tires, size P255/50ZR16, mounted on rims for $600 (off an 85 vette). They look to be in good shape and have good tread left on them. My question is wether or not these are good tires? Is this a good price? Im not really a tire guru and I was wondering what experiences people here have had with these tires.
visa tires are probably the worst tire you could buy. They came on my vette when i bought it. All 4 tires were out of round with slipped belts. For about 120 a tire you can do much better. check the link http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/sea...0&rd=16&cs=255
Yeah seems like too much money. You take a huge gamble sometimes buying used. Since those are mounted, they are probly ok. You hafta check the manufacture date stamped into the tire. I wouldnt buy em if they are more than a couple of years old even if they are brand new.

Actually, the worst tire out there is probably any tire with the brand name Primewell. Bridgestone/Firestone dealers call them their "house" brand, & they will sell you a Z rated tire for about $65. The problem is that they are a chinese tire of the worst kind. The joke around the web is that the only thing they do well is the fact that they are black, round & hold air. Other than that nada. There are many, many reports of these elcrapo tires having blowouts with people just driving normally down the road. Also many reports of internal belt slippage & other production problems. Just thought I would pass this info along. Disclaimer: This is just what I`ve heard, but after researching them, I wouldn't`t put them on my Radio Flyer wagon.
I currently have the g-force sports on my 86. They are about the best that you can get in the stock size. I've found that the wear very well for a performance tire. I have 15k on mine and they are about half worn. They grip in the dry well and are pretty good in the rain. They are fairly smooth riding and ok with noise levels. I have found that they tend to loose their balance pretty easily. Definitely buy them from a shop that give free lifetime balancing. I know that Discount tires and Costco give lifetime balancing for free.
Just a reminder to always check the manufactured date stamped in code on the tire.(even on new) Especially important for those of us who don't put many miles on. They say 5-7 years is the max for tires. Rubber gets old and hard with time and sun.
Anyone have experience with Bridegstone G-Force tires?
I have G-Force's on my 94. They were on it when I bought it. I have had the car for 2 years and so far so good. Good grip, fairly smooth and quiet. They don't appear to be wearing out to fast either.
