I got a 1990 C4 Vette with a 1st gen computer. Is there a way to upgrade the computer to one of the newer ones so i can get the hand held tester to work for my vette? Or am I wishing to much?
it would be much cheaper and a lot easier to buy a scanner that works with OBD1
you know of any place that sell them? I need one because my seat belt light stay on even when I got my seat belt locked in. I looked all over to find the problem but nothing. I went as far as to replace every single fuse that is that car. (because I don't know when it was last done and most the fuse are cracked.)
Did you check the contacts in the seat belt that closes the warning light circuit?
Yes and no luck. plus I got powered seat with switches on the seat itself that don't work. I think I know why they are not working is from being 20 years old and just need to be replace. I just wonder if it time to start rewiring my vette and updating and upgarding parts.
Did you test for power in the buckle, sometimes drinks are spilled and stop the connection.
Try cleaning out the buckle, you should try alcohol and cotton swabs.

A scanner won't help you with that problem...the ECM could care less whether your seat belts are buckled or not. Like the other posters said..you need to check the circuit that is controlled by the seat belt being buckled. Good luck!
