Default New AFR220 flow #'s

We took these brand new 220s over to our independent flow bench guy, that we been useing for years. and this is what they flowed out of the box, Our guy was very impressed with the way thed looked and flowed!! Considering he designs, casts and ports his own heads himself!! Which by the way are not a chevy head! so he has no horse in the chevy head races out there!!!!

Make sure in the Dart block you lay a head gasket on the decks and match the water ports to the gasket as there are 7 spots on each deck that have to be opened up on each deck.

Looks like a real nice build good luck.

Carl is spot on regarding that tip, Dart block I was working on last yr needed the same thing. Fortunately he spoke up just in the nick of time...cost me a set of head gaskets Id just torqued down, could have been much worse!

Nice numbers! You are among the first in the country to have the new 220 eliminator heads. It's amazing how far head development has come. I had the old AFR 220 comp heads, and they flowed 300cfm.

We were just talking about how far they have come. Three years ago these numbers were only available as full race heads that cost $4000 plus.
I have had good experiences with AFR heads with my combo so I am anticipating some fun this summer!!!!

Very true...even the #s at .400 are . I have a set of heavily worked over Dart 200s that are probably similar in size and they dont even come close to those 220s. We are so fortunate to have parts like this at our disposal these days. I remember when the big deal was to have a set of Bowie/292 heads, there wasnt really much to choose from
Enjoy

The cam will be the 700/701 TPIS solid roller I have been running.

This motor is Corkvette1'a creation and I have no doubts that it will be a monster

Nice piece going together there Jim. I wish I would have held out for a few months years ago to get some eliminators...oh well.

Cork is a big fan of that cam, no doubt it has served him well.

Oh, and on SpeedTalk, who is sbchevy1? I read it and thought it was you then saw the Camaro pics in the sig??? I thought "Who jacked Jim's CF post???"

I was asking about the Cam lift. So it's the same Cam as the one you ran in the 383 ?
