Default Finally affordable headers!

Not sure if you guys care but I found these doing a google search.

http://www.vetteheaders.com/servlet/...ng-Tube/Detail

Have any of you guys tried these? For $595 bucks it sounds like a steal. I am gonna give these guys a call on monday and ask what the flange thickness is and see what shape are the ports. If you guys have any other questions let me know and I will ask.

Man you aint kiddin me they do look alike. I am wondering if it would just be cheaper to just order the hedmans. Send them off to get coated then throw them on my LT1. Or maybe it would be cheaper to just get them from McJack's. BTW how do hedmans fit on the LT1 motors. I here the exhaust openings on the Hedmans dont match the LT heads very well.

Yep...the fact McJack's resells Hedmans has been posted here before. And, unless McJack's is coating in a different way (than "factory" Hedmans), it's a lot of markup.

Plus, the OP's joy must be even higher -- now that a new price threshold has become known!

At $595 those ain't any cheaper than Hookers. Clearly those appear to be marked up Hedmans.

595, for that kind of money I'd pm Merle and see if there is still GP pricing on the EM Longtubes.

Affordable?

You can take the tin off your stocker exhaust and ceramic coat them.
Get the looks for about $100?

Performance??? well there are not many cheap ones that will do anything.

Merle is with Exotic Muscle and the 2009 group price has been around $671. High quality product, coated, 3/8 flange, 1-3/4" tubes. This is a link to a 2007 GP but has the phone number. The website is down for 2010 updates.

Guys, I've sat and watched "Jack' weld up custom big block headers myself.

That face plate is no top secret plate. You order up a few from a stamping house, bend the tubes and weld them together.....

The big block ones that I saw had bunch of collector parts that had to be fitted and welded together.

so those that are pictured from McJack aren't too difficult

If you'd like...I'll go ask McJack to make a pair of headers while I do a photo documentary of the process....

I agree. OTOH, if your state/locality ever intiates emissions inspections/testing, having that relatively inoccuous tube there might pay off in the long run. And, it can't be particularly hard to plug until if/when needed.

If you think LTx tubes are an eye-sore, look at the L98 tubes!

(And, damn Brian, don't you ever get tired of posting pics of your stuff? LOL)

EM Longtubes are made to order. You just have to request that you don't want the air tube.
