I just got a stage 2 FastChip, however I didn't realize it was a piggyback unit. How does an Ed Wright FastChip compare to a Hypertech? DOes it do anything more than timing? Does it change convert. lockup, etc? Anyfeed back would help.

I have basically the same car as you with Stage II Fastchip. Mine is a 6 speed though. I only have my SOTP dyno so i won't make any statements to get laughed at. However I can definitley say the car is more of a pleasure to drive. It just seems more fun and easier to drive. I would buy it again for sure. Talk to Ed or send him an e-mail. He is a very good guy to do business with.

Before my Ed Wright Fastchip my fastest ET was 14.039 @ 100.226. After installing the chip my E.T. dropped to 13.618 @ 101.22 - you be the judge! :)
Larry did you notice any difference with the 1.6 rocker arms? Did you have to change your guide plates and push rods? Was it worth the money? I have been thinking about this upgrade myself and also have a 91-L98
Thanks
I used the Crane Gold because they were self aligning. I do not race, just like nice toys :) I think I felt a difference but the SOTP dyno may be influenced by the $300 less in the wallet  I do know that all of the small things I have done has definitely made a noticable diffrfence over completely 100%stock when I bought it. It had 28,000 miles when I bought it three years ago and now has 35,000.

I CAN give you EXACT # on what the 1.6 RR will do....as I put all of my runs & weather data in my weather station..
With STOCK rockers my best ET was 12.48 @108.xx mph
The "ONLY" change I did was to add the 1.6 RR (GM) & LT4 valve springs.. 1st run I went 12.28 @ 110 MPH in the exact same weather...
Just the 1.6 RR got me .2 FULL tenths.. in drag racing that is a "hellova lot"

To answer the post. Yes it is worth every penny, I sold my stage ll hypertech chip for the Ed wright and it really improved the SOTP meter as well as well as the fan cooling ability. :)
Red96Coupe. I have been copying your setup since day one, Well I guess the RR's and springs will go in next week.
Also I have purchased the NX 150( I will only do 100 shot) so then I am finished.
I always wanted a 98 viper. sorry guys but I will keep the old vette. I just need a head snapper and the Viper does that better than my 92 vert.
