Default 1988 vs 1989 TPI set up - interchangeable?

I am L98 rebuild, its a NCRS car, question is about TPI...especially fuel rails , injectors and throttle body and mass air flow. There are different part numbers for 88 to 89. I am building an 89 engine but have some 88 parts. The 88 was the last year of the cold start valve right? Can I just block off the back of the 88 right corner of fuel rail as it seems to have a threaded insert that can be used. Also, what is the difference in throttle bodies from 88 to 89. Will the 88 perform correctly on the 89? I know the 89 went with new larger injectors, so if I use an 88 TPI set up, will 89 injectors fit and work properly in the 88 rail? Same about 88 Mass air flow...will it work ok on an 89 with 89 ecm? Thanks for your time.

So long as you stay with the '89 intake, the only issue should be sealing off the cold-start injector port on the LH rear of the fuel rail.
