so you can say that a auto corvette only has 3 gears to play with when pushing the cars limits?? Sounds strange.. If I cant use ALL of my gears, then the top speed of my vette isent more then my sisters volvo......
( another good reson to buy a manual vette.. )
No...I can say that when most people have their vette tranny rebuilt, the shop that does it slaps a reman unit from the shelf in and there you go. Now you do not have a vette trans.
Believe me, the trans guys can be very decieving...tell you it's a vette trans and you won't know. The only way to tell ( other than how it shifts ) is to look at the stamped numbers on the rear edge on the passenger side of the trans.
Tell me what your stamp is and I will tell you what it came from. ( It's in the ATSG manuals ).
will do.. Just one more question. To test top speed must I first WOT until, lets say 5200rpm. THEN easy on the throttle to let it poopie into OD then gently keep on accelrating? bummer.... :/
If your TV valve is too tight, you may have too back off some for upshift.
If you had a 2.59 rear end on an L98, I wouldn't even worry about top speed in fourth...third would probably go faster. Haven't figured it for a 3.08 though.
