They{ Fastchip }do a little more than just cut the fans on earlier I know from talking to Ed Wright that the rev limiter is increased to 6200 RPM I have this mod on my 92 and am pleased
Doesn't anybody sleep? Man, I thought I was up early. Do you still have to buy a custom chip for a stock setup? I don't plan on a lot of upgrades (K&N), but I would like the fan to come on a bit earlier and more aggresive shift points.

Well I go to bed early, just get up about 4. The main reason I bought the chip was for the lower fan settings. I noticed on the few runs I made at the track that the vette was fastest on the first run. The temps was still down around 190 or so. At 220 it looses time. The fan switches for automatically turning on the fans at a lower temp dont seem to be available for the LT1. By the way, I bought mine used from a forum member. $125.00 shipped and included the air foil and a LT1 throttle body cover plate.
Your right, IT WILL run faster, the BEST temp is to try & leave the starting line at 140... I have a manual switch, so I can run my fan with the motor OFF, & cool it down while I'm in the stageing lanes..
