Ok who knows what the plate attached to the passenger side half shaft is there for and what do the numbers represent? There is not one on the drivers side half shaft.........
I am trying to decode the factory tag attached to this half shaft anybody know where to start.....it looks like one of the numbers is the vehicle vin and the other seperate numbers are a 4 digit and the other a 3 digit (8YP).
I can take one maybe this evening, but it is the factory attached plate in the center of the half shaft........I know on the 1987 the 3 digit number on the passenger side half shaft was the gear ratio code, But on this 1989 the 3 Digit (8YP) does not appear to be a ratio code.....Just wanting to decode the numbers.......

Yes, I understand what you are trying to do. I'm just thinking that if you have a photo of the tag, I can post it to the NCRS Technical Forum for you and see if any of the senior judges can decode it for you. Just trying to help...

I have 5 sets and both the drv side and pas side have identical tags / set
Of the 2 sets with # similar to yours, all four have the same # you reference as a possible Vin
The only difference between the two sets is the 3 letter code
one has L19 nc , the other I25 nc
I also have two completely different style of tags ; the bottom shown is from a later car and the tag is at the end , not in the center of the HS
