Hey guys, I was able to latch on to a free later model timing chain cover. Some guy on the internet wanted to even trade his newer model 95+ opti style timing cover for an older style. Well since my friend happened to just upgrade his 94 to a later style he accepted the deal. Also since he wasn't going to use his old timing cover anyway, he gave it to me.
One thing he didn't notice that I did as soon as he handed it to me was this little thing on the bottom of it. Very near the bottom of the cover, on the side it has another hole. It is there from the factory, it also has a much smaller threaded hole, such as a screw hole to secure whatever goes in the big hole. I'm just curious what in the world kind of car this thing came off of, this hole looks like an oil return or something, but what LT1 car would have an oil return right there? It's not big deal, I can block the hole and still use it, I'm just really curious what in the world it is.
What else used the LT1? It's not a vette cover, it's not a f-body cover, Impala maybe? But I still don't understand it.
Oh well as soon as I can get a free late model Opti, I'll be a gear drive away from having all the parts required for a gear drive.
