Actually it was a 12.03 but my video quality is not the best. This footage is a little old but I have be trying to get it posted for a while. Not bad for a stock bottom end 350 and a 6-speed. Imagine if he had done a big burnout and launched it hard. Anyway can't wait to see it run this year since Dean has made a few "minor" adjustments. Go Red Rocket GO!!! http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c4/thu...red_rocket.mpg
Make sure you head out to our Hallsville event in April. Details can be found in the Southwest section under Ultimate Club Challenge. Hope to see you there.
Thanks Dave. If you listen carefully, you can hear my defective half shaft clanking when I was staged. Broke it completely on the next run. Really enjoyed beating the Mustang.

Actually Dean has already hit the 11's. He ran an 11 something at Hallsville back in 2000 (I think). He ran this 12.03 and and some other 12.0-something earlier that day and this was launching easy. On the following run you could tell he launched it harder because the car bounced but did not move...(1/2 shaft, been there done that..not fun) Anyway i'm sure he can fill you in on all the details. i was hoping he would hit another 11 on this day, but still 12.03 with basically just heads, cam, and exhaust in Texas weather is not bad
Busted my ujoint, half shaft and spindle two weeks before this race at Hallsville. Replaced with forged Spicers, hardened Spindles and a new GM half shaft. This was my 2nd run of the day and was still babying it alittle with the new rear end parts. As it turned out, the weld seam was defective on the new half shaft and eventually gave way on the next run. The crazy thing is that I actually drove home 150 miles with the shaft busted. I thought the clutch was toast again and was slipping. Really felt the car was up for the 11.8's that day.
Very nice pass !!! What was your 60 ft on that pass ? It looks like your suspension does the same as mine and come down hard in the back. I wonder why.... maybe our suspensions are too soft, dunno.
Yeah, it seems those 1/2 shafts are on borrowed time with clutch cars... I haven't had a problem yet... knock on wood.
Thanx for letting me know Chris!! I will be there.
We are having our Street King Shotout on Sunday March 24th at Hallsville. This is our third race and we have had over 150 cars at the other two. It's great time with no scoreboards so you can grudge race all day without anybody knowing your times. :D The info for it is on the Hallsville homepage.
Thanks Beach/Jon/Curtis/JD. Below is comparing my times at the same track with the same kinda of weather on two different days. As you can see from the times, I really felt 11.8's were obtainable since I added the skinnies for the 2nd run and really did not get a good 60' time on the 12.03. This was also my first time with the new HAL shocks. Had them set at 0. Also use the DRM bracket. Not sure if these two mods causes the suspension to come down hard.
Thanks mackey/OH/Bob/LPD. This is probably as good as its gonna get since i plan to race with only DR's or Street tires now. Would like to run 12.0's with the MPH at 120-122 on street tires.
