Default 96 Bose Amp

Hey, I am going to rework the entire system in my vette, replace the stereo and amp, rerun all wires, build boxes and replace the factory speakers and boxes they come in.

My fear and question is, when I take the Bose amp out will it disable the car? Is it tied into the security system from the factory? I have had the stereo out and it has had no effect, but will I have that same luck on the amp?

I can leav it in there, but I plan to put a small amp in to run my speakers and I would like to keep the "stealth" look and put my aftermarket amp in the spot where the bose amp is.

Thanks!

- Bose amps are part of the speaker assembly...one per speaker.
- The component you removed is the CD/Cass/AM/FM player/tuner.
- The box you're referring to in the passenger side storage well as the amp is the actual receiver.

The car will still run fine with the stereo components removed, however the CCM will set an error code and flash "SYS" on the IP. If you do a search, you'll be able to find the work-around to correct that.
