I've got a slight high end miss... above 4500 or so. I revved it up to check that the vibrations were gone, and they are. But there was definitely a miss all over above 4500. I could hear it. Didn't pick up any knock when it missed, so am I to assume it's not detonation? I have new MSD wires, a new optispark, and a high performance coil. Any ideas?
oh.. yes, they are semi-new ... NGK TR55's .. put then in in July... they have about 2k miles on them. I suppose I could go ahead and change them... you recommend going to the TR6 (cooler) because of my compression?
Is it running out of gas? Try it with a fuel pressure guage hooked up. If the pressure drops off at high rpms, check the filter. Possibly the pump is too weak to maintain pressure at hige volumes. Just a shot in the dark. Good luck.
Very well could be bad wire... I do see they are new, but, run the car in complete darkness.. by the way, well ventilated darkness, and look carefully in the motor compartment.. You may be surprised! Arcing? :yesnod:
CFI_EFI,
No problem. I did not realize it did that. And for the resolution, forget that. I changed mine to a smaller setting last week and it allows you to get more on your screen too. Did not realize I was the cause of the super dooper screen! You see you learn more here than just about cars. Thanks amd sorry if I was the cause of your carpal tunnel syndrome.

Ah, ok. I forgot to check that. I'll look at my BLM's too.

Re: High end miss (Glock'94)
If you are sure its a miss, thoroughly check the ignition wires.
New wires do not guarantee you don't have a problem. It could be a wire leaking to ground or cross fire to another wire. Do the check in the dark garage. Check all connections, make sure you used the silicone grease, wire separators, and plastic insulators especially on the wire from the coil to the Optispark. Make sure the gaps are right on the plugs.
I will also second MEZ suggestion about wires. I spent 75 bucks for a set and they had a small pinhole in the one wire. All of a sudden the car had NO power, couldn't even pass a grandma in an oldsmobile! Got to my Dads and started looking around after he gave me a lecture on why I should not mess with stuff like this, meanwhile he has a whole fleet of muscle cars that are hopped to all hell. Anyways I started moving wires around while the car was idling and I got about knocked on my butt. Dad said he saw sparks fly off my one fingers to the SR! I kept poking around (not grounding myself as good and only received static type shocks till I pinpointed the hole. After getting some electric tape on the hole the car ran like a champ again. I surely would be able to take that old grandma now! :yesnod: Shes probably still telling stories to her card club! As stated before do not rule out the wires. How are the BLMs? You may be running super rich. Glock, thought I would also rub in that I ordered my WB o2 sensor the other day! The only way to tune! Puts your mind at ease when doing WOT and also tuning for mileage. I will be watching to see if you find out what it is.
