Default Rear end.....

I am looking for a little more "pep" in my car but not looking to go mod happy either. Its tempting but really need to watch every penny. I may be in the market for one of those gold things that goes around a finger with a clear looking stone in it so I dont have a ton to spend on mods.

Just going ot do a few small things. I remember when I put 3.90s in my Camaro (up from 3.42) it made a big difference.

My car is a 94 6-speed so it has the 3.42s in a 44 carrier correct? Well not sure which gears to go with. The 3.73s would be an improvement but the 4.10s would be even more. What is the pay off of each and which would you guys go with?

Also, does anyone have a parts list of the bearings and whatever else I would need to change when swapping out the gears? Just want to make sure when I go to do it hat I have everything. Oh....I found them on a site but they seem to be very cheap. Here is the link. Are they decent gears or should I stay away from them?

Thanks!

Can't help you any on the actual gear changing but I've read many times that 4.10's are the way to go in a six speed.

Thats what I am reading. I just want a little more pep than what it has and I read that the gears are a cheap/good way to get a little more performance out of the car.

Thanks!
We autocrossed a '93 with 3.73 gears for several years and did very well. The 3.73 is the largest numerical gear you can do without changing the internal (drive) gear for the speed sensor. Anything bigger gets more involved if you want to keep your speedo correct. If you're going to drag race your car the 4.10's would be better but I understand there may be some issues with case fitment. Need to get more input here.
BTW we used Yukon gears...very nice

I havent seen anything about case fitment.....will have to look in to that. Now when I changed my gears in my camaro I had to change a little nylon thing (technical term I know....) in the tranny (automatic though) in order to get the speedo correct. I dont know if its the same with the 6-speed tranny or not. Is it tough to change the internal drive gear?

The speedo drive gear is inside the tail piece and I've been told that if you're really good you can remove the retaining clip and slide it out through the rear seal. I've also been told that in reality, the best way is to remove the tail housing. Just what I've all heard, should probably get input from someone with direct knowledge.

No doubt..Wakes the car up tremendously.Make the car feel much lighter.Still gets descent mileage as only turning about 2,000 RPM at 70 MPH.Example: I dusted a new GTO last night to 60. 1.5 Car Lengths and my LT1 is basically stock.
