I starting to look for some aftermarket wheels for my 1986 Vett I founding out once again I don't have very much to choice from unless I use wheel Adapters I not to hip on that Idea.
Can I change out the Front hub Bearing and the rear axle units to a 1988 on up so I can more wheels to choice from.
Or would you use wheel Adapters ?????????????? if I went this way how bad will this screw up the cars handling do to different wheel offset.
And what size tires should I use with 17 or 18 inch tall wheels and how wide of a rim should I use.

The difference is in the suspension ; not the hubs
Rear hubs are same '84- 96.Front hubs have differences relating to ABS sensors but are same dimensions.
The adapters returns the late wheel to the correct position on a early car
Just looking now if I go that route just getting alll my ducks in a row before I find out I should researched it some more before I spent all that cash just to find out there was a better way only if I looked into it more.

Your car has 32 or 38mm offset ( dependent apon 8.5" or 9.5" rims )
You can buy aftermarket wheels with correct offset so you don't need spacers

Anything off a later model Vette (56mm offset ) will require the adapters
I have a set of wheels that will work on your car with only a 1/4" spacer. They may fit without anything but Im not 100% sure since I dont have an early model.
