i'm pretty sure i understand what you're saying. the only pic i've found of a 94 console assembly shifter shows a number "1" on the lens, so i'm assuming they left the factory that way. the same applys to the 91-93 configurations.
my question is, can you manually shift into first? does your shift indicator point to where the number "1" should be?
if you can shift into first, and the needle points to where "1" should be, it seems there are several possibilities - either someone removed the console and "erased" the number, you have some sort of factory flaw, and the number was never imprinted on the lens, or if you have an export model, its some sort of export feature. the latter might be true if you physically cant put the shifter into the "1" position (even though in drive, the transmission starts out in low). i'm by no means an expert on the export model, but my best guess is it might be some sort of export feature. ???????????????
I've called a tuner , and he said like what u said , it's an export specs . and this can be changed by modifiying the shifter itself . I may take the car to him this weekend . it's one hour job.
