1.6 Roller Rocker install?

I have a basically stock 94 LT1 6-speed coupe with 100K miles on it and I am looking to do some 1.6 roller tipped rockers. My question is do I have to replace the valve springs when I install these or can I just get away with doing just roller rockers

With a 100,000 on the engine I would replace the springs while you have it down. You should be able to do both in a weekend.

From my extensive research (really extensive) you must replace the springs to at least LT4 spec or better when going with 1.6 RRs

If you never plan to rev beyond 4500, keep the old springs.

How do I replace the springs short of taking the heads off. There must be a way to do them without taking the heads off

There are even some pictures if you search.
IIRC there are two schools of thought:
Use air to keep the valve up
Use rope to keep the valve up

But with 100K on them, and with the minimal amount of work to pull the heads I would reccomend a valve job with new seals and springs.
That way you know the valves will seal right, the pesky valve stem seals won't leak and you will have fresh springs.
