On my 1991 vert, I noticed recently that my throttle blades open 80-85% when mashing the accelerator pedal to its max. I can open the throttle body fully by hand, and have checked the TPS readout with a scanner.
I think either my cable has stretched, or since it was rigged to fit on the right side, was never the proper length? Any aussie members having this issue with their C4's?
Any ideas on how to fix this problem? ie. bending the pedal or adding shims or something to the cable attachment?
Check travel at pedal first.
Is pedal fully up at closed TB position?( no slack )
Unless something is stopping pedal movement ( carpet ? ) cable type used should have no bearing on movement because 100% @ pedal equals 100% @ TB unless custom brackets have been used somewhere.
If the pedal is hitting the floor before full movement at TB , you may be able to space the pedal mount out( washers under bolts) to get extra travel
Elongate or slot the holes in the bracket holding the cable to the plenum. Pull the bracket back away from the throttle body and tighten the bolts. You might be able to gain 3/16 of an inch or so and maybe that will make a difference.
