My '92 6-speed uses SAE 5W30 transmission lube. Royal Purple suggests using Royal Purple 5W30 motor oil. I know of people who use Pennzoil Synchromesh. Any suggestions on what would be the best to use for my application?
Amsoil lists their Synchromesh as meeting the specs of the original GM part# 1052931
I've been using it in my '96 for close to 50k miles without any issues.
I'd use the above mentioned AMSOIL transmission fluid with much more confidencee than any automotive oil. FYI, the above link takes you straight to AMSOIL's corporate website. If you do try the AMSOIL, note the info in my sig to tag the sale to the forum.

I just put it in, runs fine. I take mine to the track as well and most of the shifts are at 5800 rpm and for extended 25 minute runs. I would absolutely recommend it.
