Exactly. The O/D will remain on (energized), if not turned off manually, and will be de-energized in first gear under accelleration and energize itself again automatically when you shift to second gear. We do agree.
The overdrive on my vette no longer works. I had to replace it(had no reverse) with one of those overdrives that uses a cable, my car though is the one with electronic operated overdrive. So I just use it as a manual now with no top 3 gears.
