Default low oil pressure

Now on to my next problem, When car warms up at idle oil reads zero LBS. When driving it goes to about 35lbs. When i first start the car it is at 40 at idle then the warmer it gets {the engine} the lower the oil pressure drops. When water temp. is 200 thats when i have no pressure. What should i start to check. Steve

I would suggest hooking up a hand held oil pressure gauge to see if the one in car one is accurate.
What does the engine sound like when oil pressure > 0

Kind of sounds like your sending unit is going out.....that would be the easy fix.

What weight oil are you running? It sounds to me like the engine oil pump is not pressurizing the oil adequately as it thins out from temperature. How many miles on the car?

If you are high mileage and running 5W30 I might try 10W30 or even 10W40 and see if that makes a difference.
